What are the dangers of Asbestos?

The dangers of asbestos to our health is a very serious one.  Asbestos is the biggest on the job killer of tradespeople in the UK. Every week on average it kills 20 tradesmen, including 4 plumbers, 6 electricians and 8 joiners. Don’t dismiss it as a thing of the past… it’s still a very real and dangerous threat.

What are the risks?

The inhalation of asbestos fibres can cause cancers such as lung cancer, pleural plaquesmesothelioma and other serious lung diseases such as asbestosis.  Which can all have a serious effect on your health.

According to Cancer Research UK there are around 5 times more men than women that contract mesothelioma. This is thought to be because it is often caused by exposure to asbestos at work.
